CleanLane:
LAne County’s Massive New $174,000,000 Boondoggle
CleanLane Resource Recovery Facility (Previously called IMERF) a brand new $174,000,000 solid waste sorting facility proposal by Lane County located in Goshen to be built in 2025. Lane County is ‘partnering’ with Bulk Handling Systems (BHS) with this new facility. The facility will process residential garbage, commingled recycling, and organic waste.
The facility will accept 3 waste streams: Compacted Municipal Solid Waste (public), Organics (BHS Private Business) and Commingled Recycling (BHS Private Business)
In December 2023 and August 2024 on 3-2 votes, Commissioners Buch, Trieger, & Farr voted to move forward with CleanLane
Heather Buch (East Lane)
Laurie Trieger (South Eugene)
Pat Farr (North Eugene)
CleanLane is a mixed waste processing facility, which is the wrong tool for our community but in addition the Lane County has executed this plan terribly. Lane County commissioners have already committed 10s of millions of dollars to this project, if changes aren't made soon it will cost the county 100s of millions and put our county in financial peril.
